Tanya Kort takes over as Head Coach of the Rothsay volleyball team as the lady Tigers look to improve on their 9-15 showing last season.  Rothsay hosted a Section 6A play-in game to begin the post season and won.  That hadn’t been done since 2015.  Coach Kort will be assisted by Kellie Barry (Varsity Assistant/JV/C Squad) and Heather Reber (Varsity Assistant/Junior High), with John Reber and Sydney Hovland serving as volunteer coaches.

“I am very excited for this season and the opportunity to coach this group of young ladies,” said Kort.  “They always work hard for us and each other, and want to learn, be challenged and get better.  Having them buy into what we are trying to accomplish on and off the court, and what we expect our culture to be, is going to be key to our success this season and in the future.”

The Tigers graduated 5 seniors from the 2022 squad, including All-Conference Honorable Mention Outside Hitter Kenadi Carlsrud, however, they have a solid group of returning letter winners.

Seniors Elli Meyer (Setter) and Gracyn Petersen (Defensive Specialist/Outside Hitter), junior Lisa Kjelgaard (Libero/Defensive Specialist), and sophomores Savannah Sullivan (Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter) and Bethany Danielson (Outside Hitter/Opposite) all return for the Tigers.  They will be joined by senior Kali Brandt (Opposite) and junior Brooklyn Weiers (Middle Blocker).

“I think we have a competitive conference in the Little Eight and a tough section with 6A,” stated Kort.  “Each team has a different strength that we have to prepare for before we play them.”
