“We were a very young team last year,” acknowledged Coach Roisum.  “We return 5 starters with many other players getting time last season.  We are excited to improve on last season and be much more competitive.  We are still going to be a young team and there will still be a ton of learning happening this year.  Hopefully we will surprise a few teams.  Our starters have a ton of experience to offset the new players.”

Seniors Molly Durbin (DS) and Maddy Cameron (OH), sophomores Danica Byrne (Libero), Olivia Love (DS), Sophie Akerman (S) and Kenady Cameron (MH), and freshman Kinley Bormann (MH) are all back from last year’s squad. 

Key newcomers to the varsity are seniors Addi Maethner and Kaylee Trosdahl, junior Izzy Brandborg, sophomores Kailie Robinson, Marlie Bladow and Izzy Boyum, and freshman Belle Bormann.

Roisum will be assisted by Heather Akerman and volunteer coach Rich Schaller. 

“Underwood should be strong this year in the Little Eight Conference and Section 6A, and Pelican Rapids will surprise some teams also,” said Roisum.
