The 2022 Pillager football team had only two seniors that played significant minutes, which meant a lot of varsity playing time for underclassmen.  “We grew up and it showed with a solid performance in the playoff loss against a very good West Central Area team,” stated Head Coach Paul Clark, now in his ninth season.  “Ben Horn, Eric Fornshell, Chris Kappler, Pat Cox, Josh Brown, Chad Koel, Rob Freelove and Jeremy Lombardi will assist Coach Clark.

Returning letter winners include seniors Danny Heldman (OL/DL), Josh Freelove (C), TJ Swanberg (TE), Eli Miller (RB/CB), Kobe Schulz (CB), Conner Hanson (LB) and Conner Tollefson (G), along with juniors Christian Hooge (QB), Derek Hoglin (RB/LB), Justin Anderson (TE), Cowen Cremers (WR), Kaden Imdieke (LB) and Jack Nagel (OL).  Sophomore Earl Brown (OL/DL) is expected to step into a varsity spot.

“We return a lot of players that got significant playing time last year,” said Coach Clark.  “We had a good off season weight room program, so we should be ready to compete in every game this year.”

Clark say Osakis is the team to beat in Section 6AA.
