Coming off an 18-10 season and returning eight letter winners, including West Central Conference MVP Mya Foslien (OH, Captain) and setter Macy Grosz (Captain) who reached 1000 career assists during the 2022 season, the West Central Area lady Knights volleyball team has several reasons for optimism as they head into 2023.

“We are not very tall, but we are supper quick and scrappy with experienced and passionate players who just love to play and have set goals for themselves and this season,” stated sixth-year Head Coach Missy Foslien.  “We want to get better with each practice.”

Joining juniors Foslien and Grosz as returning letter winners are seniors Whitney Westrom (MH, Captain), Madelyn Westrom (OPP) and Alaina Sykora (DS), juniors Sophie Sanstead (Libero) and Wylie McNally (OH) and sophomore Izzy Puchalski (MH).

Coach Foslien is also looking for varsity contributions from sophomore Madison Fagre (OH) and freshman Jaclynn Nelson (MH).

Morgan McGaffey (JV) and Lauren Beyer (C Squad) will assist Coach Foslien.

The coaches feel that Sauk Centre is the team to beat in the WCC, while BBE and Henning are the top teams in Section 6A.
