Fergus Falls scored 5 runs in the first inning and added 6 second inning runs to build an 11-0 lead over the Dent Wildcats on Sunday in the final regular season game in Countryside League play. The Canes completed their scoring with 3 more runs in the seventh as they handed Dent a 14-1 defeat.
Carter Thielke (2-4, 2B, 2R, 3RBI), Tosten Mann (1-2, 3BB, HR, 3R, 2RBI), Thomas Bosek (2-4, HR, 3R, 2RBI) and Ethan Gronwold (2-3, R, RBI) led the offensive attack for Fergus Falls.
Winning pitcher Carter Thielke (5IP, 7K, 1BB, 5H, 1ER) and reliever Sean McGuire combined on the mound.
The Canes end the regular season with a 12-3 overall record and an 11-0 Countryside League mark. Up next is the Region 16C Tournament July 29-30 and August 5-6 in Breckenridge, and a third weekend of competition August 11-12 in Pelican Rapids.
