Bemidji remained undefeated in the Sub State 14 American Legion baseball tournament with an 8-2 victory over Perham on Friday at Al Krueger Field at Tuffy’s Stadium. The Buzz scored a run in the top of the first, but Bemidji answered with 3 in the bottom of the first and added one in the second and 2 in the third to build a 6-1 lead. After Perham scored one in the fifth, Bemidji wrapped up the scoring with a pair of sixth inning runs.
Leading hitters for the Buzz were Austin Aanenson (2-4, R), Austin Schmelz (2-3, 2B, R), Evan Kovash (1-3, 2B, RBI) and Seth Urbach (1-3, BB). Gavin Griffin drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Blaiz Schmidt (2.1IP, 5H, 4R, 3ER, 1BB, 1K) took the loss on the mound.
Winning pitcher Peyton Neaudeau (7IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 4BB, 2K) fired a complete game for top-seeded Bemidji.
Ty Lundeen (3-4, HR, 3RBI, 2R) was the top hitter for Bemidji. Ben Corradi (1-3, 2RBI, R) stole two bases and Hunter Brodina (2-3, R) also had a pair of steals.
