PRBA Blue jumped out to an early lead on the way to a 19-10 victory over OTC 15U Black on Thursday night. PRBA Blue collected 13 hits on the way to the win. OTC had seven hits in the game, led by Ryan Despard (3-4). Ayden Olson had a pair of hits. Kaleb Hammes started on the mound for OTC and was followed by Olin Link, Despard, Rowan Finseth and Quenton Beske.
“We gave up far too many free bases tonight,” said Head Coach Evan Meece of OTC. “I’m proud of the way we battled back after a quick 10-0 deficit. We didn’t just shut down, but stayed on it. We need to not give the free bases and be more aggressive on the mound in the state tournament this weekend.”
OTC will travel to Fergus Falls for the state tournament on Friday and Saturday. They will face Breckenridge, Fergus Falls and Moorhead on Friday, before single elimination bracket play begins on Saturday. OTC will host the Midwest Plains Regional Tournament at Tony Kawlewski Field in Henning, July 26-31. The top two teams from the state tournament will also compete in the Regional Tournament.
