The Moorhead Mudcats paid a visit to American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park on Thursday for a 7:00pm first pitch against the Fergus Falls Hurricanes in a non-conference contest.  Moorhead scored single runs in the second, seventh and eighth innings, while Fergus Falls managed just one run on six hits with six different Canes pickup up hits.  Both Moorhead runs were unearned.

Dylan Erholtz (9IP, 7K, 3BB, 6H, 1ER) went the distance to earn the victory on the mound for the Mudcats.  Erholtz, Wyatt Gunkel and Ty Syverson had two hits each.

Moorhead turned two walks and an error into a run in the second inning.  In the seventh, a one out triple by David Dorsey and a sacrifice fly by Matt Samuelson put the Moorhead lead at 2-0.  A single and a pair of Canes errors plated the final Moorhead run in the 8th for a 3-0 lead.  In the Fergus Falls half of the eighth, Alex Hensch doubled to lead things off and Carter Thielke singled him to third base.  Hensch then scored on a fielder’s choice ground out.

The Canes next game is at Dent at 8:00pm Friday.
