M State Women’s Basketball Coach Jodi Holleman has announced the signing of Underwood standouts Mia Blaskowski and Mo Bugbee.  Both Underwood High School graduates will be attending M State and playing basketball for the lady Spartans.

“I am extremely excited to announce that Mia Blaskowski and Mo Bugbee will be playing for the M State Spartans next year,” said Holleman.  “These two come from a rock solid Underwood program and have been well-coached.”

Blaskowski was a 2nd Team All-Conference player in the Little Eight Conference her senior season, led the team in rebounding, and was named the Most Improved Player on the squad.

“Mia’s size and ability to be physical will be a great attribute for the Spartans,” stated Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “She has improved throughout her career and I’m excited to see her play so close to home.”

Holleman added, “I am impressed with Mia’s ability to rebound on both ends of the court, along with her ability to score in the paint.”

Bugbee served as a team captain for two seasons, was an All-Conference performer in the Little 8 the last two years and was also the Most Valuable Defensive Player for the Rockets the past two season.  She was named Co-MVP of the team and has the single season assist record.  She also led the Rockets in rebounding her junior year.

“Mo is a great leader, she has the ability to score from anywhere on the court and is an outstanding passer,” noted Coach Hovland. “She was a two-year captain and she took care of a lot of things off the court.  I’m excited to see her continue her basketball career at M State!”

“Mo has the ability to score from anywhere on the court and is an outstanding passer,” added Coach Holleman.  “Both girls will be immediate impact players for the Spartans next season.  We love to add these local athletes to our rosters!”
