Esko claimed the Minnesota Class AA State High School Baseball Championship on Friday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over Perham at CHS Field in St. Paul.  Dylan Marciulionis was nearly unhittable as the Yellowjackets managed just a pair of singles and a walk.  Marciulionis struck out 9 batters in going the distance on the mound.

Blaiz Schmidt (1-3) and Seth Urbach (1-2) had the only hits for Perham, and Evan Kovash drew the base on balls.

Esko took a 1-0 lead in the second, but took control of the game with a 5-run fifth inning.  They added 2 in the sixth and a final run in the seventh.  Esko finished with 12 hits, led by Cale Haugen (2-4, 3B, 3RBI, R), Finn Furcht (2-4, HR, SB, RBI, 2R), and Marciulionis (2-3, 2B).  Sam Haugen went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run batted in and 2 runs scored.

Esko finishes the season with a 27-1 record, while Perham ends with a 24-4 record.
