Class A Girls Golf Final Results

Legacy Christian Academy junior Raquelle Nelson maintained her first round lead, capturing the Class A Girls Golf Individual Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker on Wednesday.  Nelson shot an 82 in the second round, giving her a two-day total of 161, 3 strokes better than Courtney Hershberger of Fillmore Central and Kenna Henriksen of BOLD.

Top performances by area golfers included Border West sophomore Paige Beyer (89-86-175) with a tenth place finish and junior Aspen Beyer (94-90-184) of the Buccaneers who tied for 19th.  Sophie Hillman (92-93-185) of Ottertail Central tied for 22nd and Kennedy Schuler (99-99-198) of Breckenridge tied for 49th.

Lac qui Parle Valley overcame an 8 stroke deficit after round one to win the Class A team championship by one stroke with a two-day total of 696 (350-346).  Second place went to Fillmore Central with a 697 (342-355).  They were followed by Legacy Christian Academy (356-347-703), Park Christian (378-368-746), Pine River-Backus (399-386-785), Sleepy Eye United (400-396-796), Fertile Beltrami (438-397-835) and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (435-406-841).
