Class AA Boys State Golf Tournament - Day One Results

The Minnesota Class AA State Boys Golf Tournament got underway Tuesday at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.  Kimball Area senior Luke Ashbrook shot the low score of 70 to take a one stroke lead. 

Charlie Hanson of Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta turned in the top score from an area golfer with a 75, tying him for 17th place.  Jack Justesen of Hawley came in with a 78, tying him for 30th place.  Mitchell Dewey of West Central Area is in a group of 8 golfers in 34th place after shooting 79’s.  Fergus Falls junior Riley McGovern shot an 85 and Pelican Rapids senior Brady Petznick had a 91.

Holy Family Catholic is the top team after round one with a score of 295.  Totino-Grace is second with a 299 and Cloquet stands third with a 310.  They are followed by the Blake School (315), Roseau (318) and Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa (319).  New London-Spicer shot a 320 and Albany had a 329.
