HOL Baseball Awards Announced

The Perham baseball team will participate in the Class AA State Tournament in St. Cloud beginning on Tuesday after having won the Section 8AA championship last week.  The Yellowjackets also dominate the annual Heart O’ Lakes Conference baseball awards, after winning their fifth straight HOL title with a perfect 12-0 conference record.  Perham has not lost a conference game since 2018.

Perham senior Evan Kovash earned the MVP award in the conference, hitting .605 (23-38), scoring 30 runs, driving in 18 and registering a 1.440 OPS.  His conference pitching record was 3-0 with a 1.34 ERA.  Kovash posted 17 strikeouts, issued 5 walks, gave up 7 hits and allowed 3 earned runs in 15.2 innings pitched.

Sophomore Ashton Detloff of the Yellowjackets was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher in the HOL with a 4-0 record, a 2.58 ERA, and 36 strikeouts in 21 innings.  He allowed 18 hits, walked 8 batters and gave up 8 earned runs.
