Otters Jensen Fails to Place in AA Discus, Cardinals Earn Medals in 10 Events

Fergus Falls senior Alex Jensen did not place in the AA Discus event at the State Track and Field Meet on Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville High School.  Jensen’s throw of 146-feet-9-inches was the eleventh best throw during the flight competition.  The top nine advanced to the finals.  Jensen had finished in second place in the Shot Put on Friday.

Alexandria had several athletes competing in finals on Saturday, led by Jaelyn Miller with a third place finish in the girls’ 1600 meter run (4:59.15).  Kasey Soderholm was seventh in the 800 (2:19.17) and the 4x200 relay team of Kaija Schneider, Elena Fuglestad, Kaia Emter and Alison Krasky was ninth (1:46.30).  The lady Cards had two individuals on the medal stand Friday with Elise Maagard finishing seventh in the discus (114-11) and Kaija Schneider taking seventh in the long jump (16-02.50).

The Alexandria boys’ were led by a fifth place finish from Otto Anderson in the 300 meter hurdles (39.21).  Jacob Balcome was seventh in the high jump (6-02.00) and Evan Kludt was eighth in the long jump (20-06.50).  The 4x800 relay team of Riley Wagner, Owen Draper, Throck Lehmann and Nicolas Wieberdink took seventh place (8:11.02), while the 4x400 relay team of Elliott Kent, Otto Anderson, Owen Draper and Riley Wagner ended up in third place (3:26.74).
