The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels claimed the Minnesota Class AA State Softball Championship by winning three straight games at Caswell Park in North Mankato on Thursday and Friday.

Senior Skylar Spessard and freshman Danielle Boyd had RBI singles in a three-run top of the seventh inning to send the Rebels to a 6-4 victory over Pipestone Area in the Class AA quarterfinals on Thursday morning.   Spessard (3-4, 2RBI, R) and Makayla Winter (2-3, 2B, SF, RBI, 2R) led DGF at the plate.  Autumn Leach (4IP, 5H, 3R, 0ER, 1BB, 2K) started in the circle for DGF and Natalee Linman (3IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 2K) got the win in relief.

In their 2-1 semifinal round win over LeSueur-Henderson, the number 5 seeded Rebels rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to win their 15th straight game.  Spessard opened the inning with a base hit and Mady Myklebu came in to pinch-run.  Boyd doubled down the right field line, advancing Myklebu to third base.  A ground out by Kaleigh Pete brought home Myklebu with the tying run and Boyd came around to score the go ahead run on a throwing error.  Linman (1.1IP, 0H, 1K) again got the win in relief of Leach (5.2IP, 5H, 1R, 0ER, 1BB, 1K).

The Rebels reversed their trend in the championship game, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning, giving up a run in the bottom of the first and then holding that lead the rest of the way for a 3-1 victory over St. Charles.

Makayla Bjelland led off the game with a single up the middle and Makayla Winter delivered a base hit, moving Bjelland to second base.  A walk to Skylar Spessard loaded the bases and Mady Myklebu pinch ran for Spessard.  A passed ball moved the runners up, with Bjelland coming home with the first run of the game.  Danielle Boyd then drove in Winter with a single through the left side, giving DGF a 2-0 lead.  Boyd was thrown out attempting to steal second, but Myklebu scored from third on the delayed double steal for a 3-0 lead.  Boyd (1-3, RBI), Kaleigh Peterson (2-3), Winter (1-3, R) and Bjelland (1-4, R) were the hitting leaders for DGF.  Leach (3IP, 5H, 1ER, 0BB, 1K) got the win and Linman (4IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 4K) delivered four strong innings of relief.
