The Ottertail Central 15U Black Babe Ruth Team lost game one, 14-11 in extra innings, and fought to a 7-7 draw in game two against the Alexandria Red team.  The first game went ten innings before Alexandria pushed the winning runs across the plate.

OTC was led in the first game by Kale Misegades who had four hits, including a double, a triple and a pair of singles.  A 7-run fifth inning was highlighted by RBI from Ryan Despard, Kaleb Hammes, Misegades, and Olin Link.  Alexandria responded with five runs in the sixth inning.

Ayden Olson (5IP, 3K, 8R, 9H) took the loss on the mound, coming on in relief of Misegades (5IP, 3R, 4K).

In game two, OTC scored five runs in the fourth inning with Despard, Link and JR Faaaliga all knocking in runs.  OTC had 7 hits in the game with Misegades and Despard each collection two hits.  Misegades had two steals and as a team, OTC stole 7 bases in the contest.

“Our bats were looking really good tonight, but we gave up far too many extra bases on walks and errors in both games,” stated OTC Head Coach Evan Meece.  “We’ll need to cleanup those aspects of the game moving forward and we’ll continue to be competitive.”
