Fergus Falls senior Alex Jensen finished as runner-up in the Class AA State Shot Put competition on Friday morning at the Boys AA State Track and Field Meet, being held at St. Michael-Albertville High School. Jensen’s distance of 54-feet-7-and-3/4 inches was just a quarter of an inch shy of the winning distance of 54-08.00 by Peyton Byrne of Stewartville. Jensen will compete in the Discus competition on Saturday morning.
Otter junior Shane Zierden took third place in the triple jump (43-02.00), just 2.25 inches out of second place and 2.75 inches away from the champion, Abagotte Opiew of Worthington.
Jaden Miller did not qualify for finals in the 800 meter run (2:01.59).
