Class A Girls State Track and Field Meet - Day One Results

The first day of competition at the Girls Class A State Track and Field Meet at St. Michael-Albertville High School featured finals in half of the field events and preliminary races in all running events from the 800 meter run on down.  Finals in the running events and the remaining field events will be held on Friday.

In the discus finals, Alexis Riniker of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton was sixth (116-04) and Ellie Welch of Pelican Rapids finished seventh (111-07).

In the long jump, Jaden Hackel of Perham took seventh place (17-01.25) and Kinley Bormann of Ottertail Central claimed ninth place (17-00.00).

Ally Hart of OTC, Grace Backstrom of Pelican Rapids and Brynn Larson of Frazee all failed to place in the high jump as all three jumped 4-10.00.

Perham hurdler Lauryn Rustad qualified for finals in the 100 hurdles (3rd – 15.35) and 300 hurdles (3rd – 46.49), and the Yellowjackets advanced their 4x200 (6th -1:45.81) and 4x400 (6th – 4:04.56) relay teams to Friday’s finals.

Pillager’s Jessa Kimman qualified sixth in the 100 hurdles (15.76) and the Huskies 4x100 relay team (50.47) qualified for finals with the seventh fastest prelim time.  Violette Metz did not qualify for finals in the 100 meter dash (12.83).

Lindsey Rotz of Barnesville moved into the finals in the 800 (5th – 2:18.55), along with Jada Goeson (9th – 2:20.38) of New York Mills, and Amber Collins of Wadena-Deer Creek advanced in the 400 meter dash (8th – 59.25).

Megan Guler of Pelican Rapids did not qualify for finals in the 100 (13.05) or 200 (26.75), and Lucea Wales of Ashby-Brandon-Evansville failed to move on in the 200 (26.77) and the 300 hurdles (51.24).
