The Fergus Falls 14U travelling team won the Silver Division Championship at the 14U AAA Fargo Tournament over the weekend. The tournament started with Pool Play which saw Fergus Falls record a walk-off 5-4 win over the Fargo 61’s and lose to Winnipeg 9-1. Those results put them in the Silver bracket where Fergus Falls beat the Bismarck Capitals, 5-1, and defeated Bemidji, 11-3 in the title game.
The weekend was filled with strong pitching performances by Brody Krein, Caleb Fronning, Nolan Felstul and Josh Horgen. The Otter bats stayed hot with key hits all weekend in times where they needed them most. The defense, led by Bennett Thielke in center field and Kadyn Zender calling the games behind home plate, shut opposing offenses down.
“We hadn’t played our best baseball yet and wanted to show our compete and work ethic, we did that in the Fargo AAA Tournament,” said Coach Darren Krein.
