The Alexandria girls’ golf team entered the second day of the Section 8AAA Tournament with a six shot advantage over Detroit Lakes. The Lakers bounced back with their best single day performance of the season on Day 2. They shot a very impressive team total of 304 on Friday, winning the tournament by 15 shots over the Cardinals.
“The team was disappointed that they did not advance to play in the State AAA Golf Tournament,” said Alexandria Head Coach Tim Zupfer. “However, three players (half of the team), did advance as individual qualifiers to play in the State Tournament. Hannah Boraas, Rachel Bowen, and Aisling O’Connor each earned the opportunity to play June 13th and 14th at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.”
