The Parkers Prairie Panthers suffered a 4-3 loss to Browerville on Thursday afternoon and then bounced back for an 8-2 win over Brandon-Evansville in an elimination game in Section 6A. The Panthers will play Monday at 2:30pm at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood against a yet to be determined opponent.
“Our offense was stymied by the Tiger ace as he allowed only 3 hits and set 10 of us down on strikes,” reported Parkers Prairie Head Coach Derek Denny. “We didn’t look comfortable in the box, and looked a little timid. We didn’t play clean defensively, either. We had opportunities to score, but hit into some tough luck a couple of innings to end our threat.”
In the win over Brandon-Evansville the Panthers collected 11 hits. Cohen Noska led the charge with two doubles and a single, while Nolan Steidl doubled and singled with 3 RBI, and Shane Hanson added a pair of singles and two runs batted in. Steidl went the distance on the mound, giving up one earned run on six hits and two walks, while striking out 5 batters.
