Ashton Detloff (3IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 6K) and Cullen Poole (2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 3K) combined to shutout Pelican Rapids on Tuesday as the Perham Yellowjackets defeated the Vikings 11-0 in the elimination round of the Section 8AA baseball playoffs.
Leading hitters for Perham were Gavin Griffin (2-2, 2B, 2RBI, R), Ben Shumansky (2-3, 2RBI, R), Austin Schmelz (1-2, 2RBI, 2R), Blaiz Schmidt (1-1, 2RBI), Gage Aanenson (1-3, RBI, R), Evan Kovash (1-2, 2B, R) , Seth Urbach (1-2, RBI, R) and Gamble Bye (0-2, 2R, SB).
Pelican Rapids hits came from Jack Paulson, Luke Sjolie and Lucas VerDorn.
Perham will now host Barnesville on Thursday at 2:00pm. Barnesville survived a 9-8 battle with Frazee on Tuesday.
