The Otter boys golf team finished off their conference season by competing in the two-day, CLC championship.  Day one was held at Rich Spring, hosted by Rocori.  Day two was hosted by Fergus Falls at Pebble Lake GC.

The boys continued their good play on Monday with a team score of 318 on a difficult day at Rich Spring.  The Otters were in 5th place after the first round.  Adam Kennedy led the team with a 76, followed by Riley McGovern with a 77, Charlie Fuder added an 82 and Gavin Goepferd finished with an 83.  Ryan Nelson (84) and Aidan Swenson (86) competed for the Otters as well.  Sartell was leading the team competition by a single stroke over Alexandria after day one.

The Otters hosted day two of the CLC championship and also invited the Otter pep band to play on the deck as everyone warmed up.  "It was awesome having the band there, we've never done that at a golf tournament.  But I thought, hey, they play for all the other sports so why not golf?" coach Matt McGovern said.

The Otters had a great day on Tuesday posting a team score of 304.  That score kept them in 5th place as a team but made things a little tighter on the leaderboard.  Adam Kennedy continued his good play with a 73 to lead the Otters again and post an impressive 2-day score of 149.  That score put Adam in 5th place in the 64 person field.  "Adam has been playing so awesome lately and I'm so happy for him.  His driver is his strength, he hit a ton of fairways and took advantage of that to avoid bogeys the last few days on these tight golf courses," McGovern added. Riley McGovern followed up his 77 with a 76 to finish in 9th place in the tournament.  Ryan Nelson turned things around after day one with an impressive 75 on the second day to finish at 159.  Gavin Goepferd followed his 83 with an 81 for a total of 164, tying his teammate, Charlie Fuder, who fired another 82 to also finish at 164.  Aidan Swenson had his best tournament round so far this year with an 80 to finish at 166.
