Donovan Curfman launched a grand slam home run, Dain Schroeder was the winning pitcher, and freshman Brady Luthi closed the game for a save as the Hancock Owls handed Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City a 10-9 loss on Tuesday.

The Owls were trailing 6-5 in the top of the sixth when Curfman connected for his blast to give Hancock a 9-6 advantage.  ACGC got a run back in the bottom of the sixth, but Hancock scored in the top of the seventh to take a 10-7 lead going to the bottom of the seventh.  ACGC scored a pair of runs, but their rally came up short.

Schroeder (6IP, 6K) withstood a potent offensive attack from ACGC and was helped by the clutch hitting of the Owls.  Hudson VerSteeg and Chase Evink each had 3 hits in the game, and VerSteeg and Schroeder each had 2 runs batted in.
