The Perham Yellowjackets recorded their fifteenth straight win on Tuesday when they handed the Fergus Falls Otters a 4-1 setback on Senior Night at American Legion Field in Fergus Falls.  It was the sixth consecutive loss for the Otters.

The Yellowjackets loaded the bases in the top of the first inning on three consecutive walks.  A one-out sacrifice fly off the bat of Gage Aanenson put Perham on the board.  The Otters pulled even with a pair of base hits in the bottom of the inning.  Logan Larson led off with a sharply hit line drive single to center field.  A passed ball moved Larson to second base and an opposite field single by Ben Swanson brought him home.

Fergus Falls senior Riston Albert held the Yellowjackets hitless into the fifth inning when Ashton Detloff blooped an opposite field single to left to start the inning.  A wild pitch moved him to second base and a base hit by Brock Melgard brought him around to score the go ahead run.

The Perham sixth started with back-to-back walks to Ben Shumansky and Austin Schmelz.  Albert was replaced by Jack Horgen who recorded a strikeout for the first out of the inning, however, a fielding error led to an unearned run and a 3-1 Perham lead.

The Perham seventh began with a lead-off single by Melgard, who then stole second base.  After a pair of strikeouts, Shumansky walked and Schmelz delivered a RBI single to put the score at 4-1.

Schmelz (7IP, 4K, 0BB, 4H, ER) was the winning pitcher, and Albert (5IP, 6K, 5BB, 2H, 3R, 2ER) took the loss.  Horgen struck out 4 batters in his two innings of relief.

Fergus Falls will travel to Detroit Lakes to face the Lakers on Thursday and will close out their regular season schedule with a Friday home game against the St. Cloud Crush.

Perham has two games at home on Thursday, facing Esko at 2:00pm and Wadena-Deer Creek at 6:00pm.
