Fergus Falls junior Annika Jyrkas fired a 2-under par 70 at The Territory Golf Course in St. Cloud on Monday, claiming second day medalist honors at the Central Lakes Conference Girls’ Golf Tournament.  Alexandria won the team title with a score of 638 (326-312).  Brainerd was second with a 658 (332-326), Sartell took third with a 702 (371-331) and Fergus Falls was fourth with a 715 (371-344).

“This is Annika’s best score as an Otter and the program’s low score,” reported Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Annie Mayer followed up with a solid 79.  It’s great to have two in the 70’s and two more breaking 100, and two others about to break 100.  We are trending in the right direction at a good time of the year.  If we can get our 3 through 6 players to post mid 90’s or lower by the end of the year, we could compete for the section title.”

Ellie Bergren posted a 96, Olivia Jurgens a 99, Shay Katzenmeyer a 103 and Hanna Bye a 104.  Jyrkas and Mayer earned All-Conference honors.

Alexandria was led by Hannah Boraas with a 147 (76-71), good for second place over the two-day event.  Ellie Sticha was fifth with a 161 (79-82), Aisling O’Connor finished sixth with a 165 (86-79), Grace Herzog tied for seventh with a 168 (88-80) and Rachel Bowen was eleventh with a 171 (85-86).  All five golfers received All-Conference recognition, with Hannah Boraas securing the top scoring average of 71.25.  Cadence Simon was honorable mention All-Conference.
