Pequot Lakes Captures Fergus Falls Girls Golf Invitational Title

The Pequot Lakes girls' golf team fired an impressive team score of 312 on Friday, winning the Fergus Falls Otter Invitational by 31 strokes.  Park Rapids Area was the runner-up with a 343.  They were followed by Moorhead 345, Fergus Falls 357 and Hawley 359.  Rounding out the team scoring were Crookston in sixth place with a 375, Bemidji at 381, Staples-Motley at 394, Pine RIver-Backus at 420 and the Fergus Falls 2 team at 448.

"The tournament was played on a beautiful day at Pebble Lake Golf Course," stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  "Pequot Lakes showed and played a very impressive team round by having 3 girls in the top 4 spots."

Genevieve Birkeland of Pequot Lakes and Morgan Krieger of the Patriots both fired rounds of 75 to share Medalist honors.  Anna Eckmann of Park Rapids Area was third with a 76.  Annie Neva of the Patriots, Annika Jyrkas of the Otters and Madysen Maninga of Park Rapids Area all finished with 77's.  Sophie Cook of Hawley came in with an 80, Annie Mayer of Fergus Falls shot an 82, tying with Madi Schue of Moorhead for eighth place.  Charlee Sullivan of Pequot Lakes was tenth with an 85.

Rounding out the Fergus Falls scorers were Olivia Jurgens 97, Ellie Bergren 101, Shay Katzenmeyer 107 and Hanna Bye 109.
