Alexandria pitcher Matthew Hornstein fired a no-hitter in the first game of the Cardinals double header in Fergus Falls on Friday and Caleb Simonson followed up with a five-inning no-hitter in game two.

Alexandria recorded a 12-0 victory in the opener as Hornstein struck out 13 batters in the game and allowed only two base runners, a hit batter and a walk.  The Cardinals banged out 15 hits in the game.

In the 11-0 five-inning win in game two, Simonson struck out 11 Otters.

Fergus Falls will play two games on Monday and American Legion Field, facing Willmar in a makeup game at 2:30pm and then playing a regularly scheduled game with Sartell at 5:00pm.
