Parkers Prairie struck early in their game against Brandon-Evansville on Thursday, scoring 4 first inning runs.  The Panthers added a single run in the third and four more in the fifth to take a 9-0 lead.  The Chargers put three on the board in the sixth, but that was all they could muster in a 9-3 loss on their home field.

“This was a tough game from beginning to end,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kasi Sieling. “We struggled to make the plays when we needed to. Parkers is a good team who hit the ball well and took advantage of everything we gave them. The girls did a good job of battling to the very end and we’ll learn from this game and use these lessons to prepare for the next game.”

Rose Volker (6IP, 4H, 3ER, 5BB, 5K) was the winning pitcher for Parkers Prairie.  Offensive leaders for the Panthers were Abby Ruckheim (2-3, 2SB, BB, 3R), Joey McKeown (1-3, SB, BB, 3RBI, R), Evy Grinager (1-4, 2RBI), Cora Johnson (1-3, 2RBI, 2R, 2SB) and Skylar Ashbaugh (1-3, 3SB, BB, 2R).

Top hitters for Brandon-Evansville were Kendra Klimek (2-3, RBI), Ava Santjer (1-3, 2RBI) and Taylin Kramer (1-3, 2SB, R).  Kylee Dingwall (7IP, 8H, 9R, 5ER, 5BB, 4K) took the loss in the circle.
