Ottertail Central faced Pillager in a softball double header on Tuesday with the Huskies sweeping the Bulldogs, 7-5 and 15-3.  Pillager took a 6-1 lead after two innings in game one and then held on for the win.  In game two, the Huskies capitalized on 8 OTC errors and scored multiple runs in each of the five innings, including six runs in the fifth to end the game by the ten-run rule.

“The girls came ready to play today,” said Ottertail Central Head Coach Heather Akerman.  “For the most part, we played much more focused.  If it wasn't for errors early in the game, I believe we could've come out on top.”

Brooklyn Christianson (1-3, 3R, 3SB), Hannah Radzwill (2-3, RBI, R, SB, SAC), Sophie Akerman (2-4, RBI, R) and Emma Dirkman (2-4, RBI) led the Bulldogs at the plate.

Top hitters for Pillager were Samantha Berent (3-4, 2B, 2SB, 3RBI, R), Hardy (2-4, R), Hunter Woidyla (3-4, 2B, SB, R) and Lauren Anderson (1-5, 2R, 2SB).

“In game two, we started down early in the game and we weren't able to recover,” stated Coach Akerman.  “Although the outcomes aren't what we want to happen, the girls come out and continue to work hard and have a great attitude.”

OTC was led by Sophie Akerman (2-2, 2B, SB, 2RBI, R) and Kenady Cameron (1-2, RBI), while leaders for Pillager were Madelyn Wright (1-2, RBI, 4R), Woidyla (1-3, 2B, 3RBI, 2R) and Briana Blais (2-4, RBI, R).  Pillager recorded 11 stolen bases in the game.
