The Breckenridge/Wahpeton softball team dominated play on Tuesday as they swept a double header from Pelican Rapids, winning 20-0 in four innings in the opener, and then needing 7 innings to post a 9-3 win in the nightcap. “Breck/Wahp was the more aggressive team today,” stated Pelican Rapids Head Coach Derrick Nelson. “We need to get ready for another good HOL team on Thursday as Hawley comes to town.”
Breck/Wahp capitalized on 16 walks from Pelican Rapids pitching in the first game. The Vikings were led at the plate of Sylvia Pesch and Zayla Arrow with both going 1-for-2.
Leaders in the second game for Pelican were Claudia Gurath (1-3, R), Zayla Arrow (1-2, R, BB) and Pesch (R, BB). Kia Nelson (7IP, 10H, 3BB, 6K, 8ER) took the loss in the circle.
