The Ottertail Central baseball team broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning Tuesday at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, when Noah Link singled to score Jayden Harig.  The Bulldogs added another run and went on to record a 6-4 victory over Menahga.

Menahga had scored four times in the fourth inning to tie the game.  “The fourth got a little tough for us, but ultimately, we were able to close the inning out and get back on track,” said OTC Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson.

Link (3IP, 0H, 0R, 1K, 0BB) earned his first win as a Bulldog.  He came on in relief of Lane Dilly (4IP, 4H, 4R, 4K), who was the starting pitcher for OTC.  “Congratulations to Noah,” said Coach Dakota Aeling.  “He has come on in relief this year in a couple really tough spots and has done a fantastic job.”

Coach Hendrickson commented on Dilly’s performance, saying, “Lane was a true bulldog on the mound.  He battled through long counts and a couple errors behind him.  He kept pounding the strike zone and put us in a spot to get things done.”

Isaiah Usher (5IP, 9H, 5R, 5K, 1BB) took the loss for the Braves. They were led at the plate by Brayden Aho (3-4, RBI, R).

Offensive leaders for OTC were Tyson Misegades and Jayden Harig with 3 hits apiece.  The Bulldogs had a total of 11 hits on the day.

Ottertail Central will host Parkers Prairie in their Senior Night game at 7:00pm Thursday in Henning.
