The Alexandria Girls Golf Team was on the road early Friday morning for a trip to Park Rapids. The team played in the Pre-Section 8AAA event at Headwaters Golf Club. All of the teams from the section were present to play the course which will be used for the Section 8AAA golf tournament June 1st and 2nd. The Cardinals team score of 319 was their 2nd best of the season. With some strong finishes, the Cardinals were able to post a 10 stroke victory over Brainerd. Detroit Lakes was another 3 shots behind Brainerd.
“We were able to bunch our scores closely together to secure the victory,” stated Head Coach Tim Zupfer. “We had two players Grace Herzog (79) and Kennedy Ellingson (87) shoot personal best scores! All 6 of our players finished in the top 16 individually.
