New York Mills pitching proved to be too much for Brandon-Evansville on Thursday as they Chargers managed only two hits in an 8-0 shutout loss to the Eagles.  Mills put together a big 7th innings, scoring 6 runs to break the game open.

The Eagles got off to a hot start with a pair of runs on four hits in the opening inning.  Brady Perleberg settled down after that, striking out 4 batters and not issuing a walk over 5 1/3 innings on the mound.

“After giving up those first inning runs, we pitched well and the defense played solid baseball,” said Head Coach Brian Perleberg of Brandon-Evansville.  “We were within striking distance heading into the last inning, but had a tough seventh inning and let things get lopsided.  When we look back, we had some opportunities on offense, but just couldn’t get that clutch hit we needed.  Give credit to the Eagles as they played a complete game.”
