Brandon-Evansville had a pair of impressive softball wins over Rothsay on Thursday, defeating the Tigers 11-3 and 12-2.

“We had a slow start in game 1 and made some base running mistakes we needed to adjust and learn from,” commented Brandon-Evansville head coach Kasi Sieling. “Defensively, we made mistakes, but were able to work out of several situations and strand 9 base runners throughout the game. Taylin Kramer (7IP, 3H, 3R, 0ER, 4BB, 5K, 2-5, 3B, SB, RBI, 2R) threw a solid game and helped herself offensively with some timely hits. The bottom of our order did an excellent job of putting the ball in play and getting things going to get runs in.

Other leaders at the plate for the Chargers were Kendra Klimek (2-3, 2B, RBI, R), Hadley Baune (2-3, 2 2B, 2R), Hallie Richter (4-5, SB, 2RBI), Tahira Schaffran (1-3, 3RBI, SB) and Sydney Schaefer (1-4, SB, 2RBI, R).

Lauren Reber (1-4, 2RBI), Bethany Danielson (0-3, 2R), Elli Meyer (1-4, RBI) and McKenzie Tillman (0-1, 2BB, R) led the Tigers at the plate.

“We played a much cleaner game in the field in game 2 and started out hot from the beginning, offensively,” said Coach Sieling of B-E. “Kylee Dingwall (5IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 4BB, 1K) found her groove in the circle and the defense made nice plays behind her.”

Madeliine Stich (3-3, 2SB, 2RBI, R), Ava Santjer (1-2, 2RBI, 2R, 2SB), Richter (2-4, RBI, 2R, 2SB), Kramer (1-2, 3R, SB), Klimek (0-1, 2BB, RBI, 2R) and Schaefer (1-2, RBI, R) led the Chargers at the plate.

Rothsay was paced by Madison Tillman (1-1, BB) and Danielson (1-2).  Kinsey Heier and Elli Meyer scored runs for the Tigers, while Allison Phillips and McKenzie Tillman had runs batted in.

“These were two big conference wins that we learned a lot from and were able to make adjustments on the field, in the box and on the bases to help us improve as the night went on,” concluded Coach Sieling.
