Warriors Win Two from Lady Owls

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors won a pair of softball games from Hancock on Thursday, winning 7-5 and 7-6.  A pair of sixth inning runs led to the 7-5 win in game one and in game two, the Warriors overcame a 4-1 deficit to pick up the sweep.

Anna Bright (5IP, 4H, 1R, 0ER, 0BB, 4K) was the winning pitcher in the opener.  The Warriors were led at the plate by Megyn Kelly (2-2, 2B, SB, 3RBI, R), Hadley Berger (2-3, 2R, SB), Jordyn Perry (1-3, 2B, RBI, R), Bright (1-2, 2R) and Emily Drewicke (2-2, R, SB).

Alex Villela (2-3, 2B, RBI), Lexi Joos (2-2, R), Kaitlyn Rohloff (0-2, 2BB, 3SB, 2R) and Gabi Joos (1-2, RBI, 2BB) led the Owls at the plate.

In the second game, Bright (7IP, 9H, 6R, 2ER, 5BB, 7K) was once again the winning pitcher.  Bright (2-3, SB, RBI, 2R), Berger (2-3, 2SB, RBI, 2R), Addison Blume (2-2, 2B, 3RBI), Sadie Vipond (2-4, 2B, R), Perry (1-3, 2B, RBI, R) and Kelly (1-3, SB, R) were the offensive leaders for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.

Hancock was led by Villela (2-4, RBI, 2R, SB), Isabel Rose (2-4, 2RBI), Abbi Nuest (2-3, RBI), Kaitlyn Rohloff (0-2, 2BB, 2R, 3SB), and Brooke VerSteeg (1-4, R).  Mattia Nelson (6IP, 8H, 7R, 6ER, 4BB, 8K) was the losing pitcher.
