Storm Wins Two CLC Games in Fergus Falls

The Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm earned their first two wins of the season when they swept a Central Lakes Conference double header from the Otters in Fergus Falls on Thursday.  The Storm won 12-1 in five innings in the first game, and then shutout the Otters 2-0 in the nightcap.

In game one, the Storm scored ten of their twelve runs on hits with two outs in the inning.  Leading hitters were Andrew Bemboom (2-3, 2 2B, 3RBI, 2R), Ben Rothstein (2-4, 2B, 3RBI, R), Keegan Patterson (1-3, 2B, 3RBI, 3R, SB) and Ethan Swanson (1-3, RBI, 2R).  Lefty Cullen Posch (5IP, 2K, 0BB, 5H, ER) was the winning pitcher.

Fergus Falls was led by Ben Swanson (2-2, R) and Ethan Gronwold (1-1, RBI, SF).

In game two, Keegan Patterson (7IP, 6H, 0R, 6K, 0BB) went the distance to earn the win.  Bemboom (2-3, 2 2B, 2R), Luke Pakkala (1-3, RBI) and Rothstein (SF, RBI) were the offensive leaders for the Storm.

Fergus Falls pitcher Jack Horgen (6IP, 5H, 1BB, 5K, 2ER) was the hard luck loser on the mound.  Logan Larson (2-3, 2SB) and Leighton Buckmeier (1-2, 2B, BB) led the Otters.

Fergus Falls will host West Central Area at 5:00pm Friday at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park.
