Brainerd defeated Fergus Falls 12-2 in a Central Lakes Conference softball game on Thursday.  “Despite the score, overall it was a game we played hard in and did a lot of things right,” commented Fergus Falls head coach Devonie Smith.  “Brainerd just played better.  This isn’t one to hang our head low on.”

Rylynn Krein, McKenzie Sjolie (2B, 2RBI) and Kendal Hansen each had a hit for the Otters, with Krein and Maddie Budke scoring the two runs.

“Brainerd did a great job putting the ball in play and placing the ball where we weren’t,” said Coach Smith.  “We played hard, only having one error, which is our best fielding game to date.  Each game we make better contact with the ball.  We just have struggled with hitting right to people.  We have some really great batters.  They just have to be a little more confident in their abilities.”
