The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton softball team swept a pair of Heart O’ Lakes Conference games from Pelican Rapids on Thursday, winning 12-1 and 8-7. A 7-run second inning led DGF to victory in the first game and in game two, the Rebels overcame a 7-3 deficit after four innings to rally for the victory.
The Vikings were led by Zayla Arrow (1-2, R), Ava Simpson (1-2. RBI) and Linea Thomas (1-2) in the opener. In game two, Sylvia Pesch (BB, R), Claudia Gurath (1-4, 2RBI), Zayla Arrow (1-3, R), Ava Simpson (1-2, R, RBI) and Linea Thomas (1-2, BB, R). Kia Nelson (6.1IP, 2K, 0BB, 6ER) took the loss in the circle.
“DGF had several key hits the last couple of innings to rally for the victory,” said Head Coach Derrick Nelson of Pelican Rapids. “We battled at the plate against a couple of good pitchers for the Rebels.”
The Vikings will play at Breckenridge on Tuesday.
