Brandon-Evansville won a pair of softball games against Ashby on Monday, taking game one by the score of 6-0 and winning game two, 4-2.  Kylee Dingwall (7IP, 3H, 0R, 3BB, 3K) earned the win the opener and Hadley Baune (4.2IP, 2H, 0R, 2BB, 1K) was the winning pitcher in the nightcap.

Hitting leaders for B-E were Kendra Klimek (2-3, RBI, R), Hallie Richter (1-4, 2SB, RBI, R), Taylin Kramer (1-4, SB, RBI, R), Sophie Koep (1-3, RBI, R) and Sydney Schaefer (1-3, SB, R).

“In game one, offensively, the girls were able to hit the ball hard and we moved runners around in all parts of our lineup,” commented Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kasi Sieling. “Kylee continued to throw well in the circle and our defense did a nice job of making heads up plays to get outs.”

Ivy Aufdenkamp had two hits and Chloe Finkelson had a third hit for Ashby.  Emily Evavold (6IP< 9H, 6R, 1ER, 2K) took the loss.  Three Ashby errors led to 5 unearned runs for the Chargers.

Brandon-Evansville managed only five hits in game two with Dingwall and Madi Stich knocking in runs.  Kramer had a double and a run scored in 3 at bats, Koep was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Richter also went 1-for-3, scoring a run.

“Our bats were a little quiet in the second game, but fortunately we were able to get enough timely hits and aggressively run the bases to stay ahead,” added Coach Sieling. “Haddy Baune did a nice job of throwing strikes and staying consistent in the circle. Freshman Mia Elmer made her first varsity appearance and struck her first batter out, which is always exciting to see. These were two good wins to start a busy week for us.”

Chloe Finkelson (5IP, 5H, 4R, 4ER, 5BB, 5K) took the loss for Ashby.  Ryleigh Brendmoen was 1-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBI.
