Ottertail Central defeated Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 19-0 on Monday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.   Kale Misegades (3IP, 3H, 0R, 2K, 0B) was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs.  Owen Harig and Hunter Haugen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

OTC racked up 14 hits in the game with Harig, Haugen and Misegades collecting 3 hits apiece.  Misegades was 3-for-4 with an RBI single in the third and a run-scoring double in the fifth.  “Kale has been really swinging a hot bat for us, and especially had a nice day at the plate as our offense put together a really good day,” commented OTC Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson.

OTC had three players steal at least two bases each, led by Gavin Pausch with 4 steals.

“We put together a real nice complete game,” noted Hendrickson.  “Our guys are really focused for a week with 4 conference games and this win is a great start.”

Ottertail Central will host Pillager on Tuesday at 4:30pm in Henning, Parkers Prairie at 2:00pm Wednesday in Henning, and will travel to Siebert Field at the University of Minnesota to face Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday at 3:00pm.
