Warriors and Wolverines Split Softball Double Header

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross claimed an 11-6 victory over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in the first game of their double header on Thursday and then the Wolverines fought back to gain a split with a 10-2 victory in the second game.

The Warriors overcame a 5-2 deficit in the first game, taking an 8-5 lead with six runs in the fourth inning.  The two teams combined for 27 hits in the game.  Emily Drewicke (4-4, 2B, SB, 2RBI, R), Alexa Blume (3-5, SB, 3RBI, 3R, SB), Megyn Kelly (2-4, 2B, R, 2SB) and Makayla Bertram (1-1, 4R) led Wheaton/Herman-Norcross at the plate.  Anna Bright (7IP, 14H, 6ER, 4BB, 6K) was the winning pitcher.

Leaders for the Wolverines in game one were Gracie Groebner (2-4, 2B, HR, 2RBI, R), Jordan Wright (2-3, BB), Jessica Moberg (2-4, 2B, SB, BB, 2R), Hayley Ward (2-5, 2B) and Addison Ward (2-4, RBI).

Game two saw J Wright (1-2, 2RBI, 2R, 2SB, BB) and Addison Ward (1-3, 2B, 2RBI, R) drive in two runs apiece for CGB.  Hayley Ward (2-3, 2B, RBI 2R, SB, BB), Grace Cardwell (1-2, 2B, RBI, R, BB) and Jessica Moberg (2-4, 2B, RBI, R) also contributed to the offensive attack.  Chloe Cardwell (5IP, 5H, 2ER, 0BB, 4K) was efficient in the circle, gaining the victory.

The Warriors were led by Emily Drewicke (2-2, R), Sadie Vipond (1-2, R) and Grace Dawson (1-1, 2RBI).
