The M State baseball team suffered a pair of road losses in Willmar on Wednesday.  The Ridgewater Warriors won a 14-13 slugfest in the first game of their double header and then swept the Spartans with a 14-3 victory in the nightcap.

Ridgewater got a walk-off single from Sam Etterman in the bottom of the seventh inning to win game one.  Ridgewater had 17 hits in the contest, with Etterman going 4-for-6 at the plate.

Beau Fetting (2-5, RBI, 2R) homered and Jackson Martin (2-4, 3RBI) had a pair of doubles to lead the Spartans 12-hit attack.  Logan Pulju (2-5, 2B, 2RBI, 2R), Eoghan Fisher (2-4, 2RBI), Fetting and Martin all had two hits in the game.  Ian Stanton delivered a run-scoring double in four at bats.

The Spartans struggled to get their bats going in the second game and Ridgewater remained hot at the plate as they scored ten runs in the fifth inning to take control of the game.  Josh Robb got the win on the mound, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs over 3 innings, while striking out six and walking zero.

Fetting and Luke Ruter (2B) each collected 3 hits to lead M State and Mike Short hit a home run.

M State will travel to St. Cloud on Friday to open a best-of-three playoff series against the Cyclones with game one starting at 10:00am.
