Brandon-Evansville won a pair of baseball games from Hancock on Friday. Brandon-Evansville led game one 3-1 going into the seventh inning. The Owls tied the game with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh and the Chargers won 4-3 on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh.  In game two, B-E broke a 2-2 tie with 6 runs in the fourth and then added 4 runs in the fifth for a 12-2, five-inning victory.

Dezmond White fanned 11 hitters in the Chargers game one victory.  He also had 3 hits and a run batted in, while stealing a pair of bases.  Hudson VerSteeg went 4-for-4 with a home run for Hancock.   VerSteeg’s two-run-homer tied the game in the last inning.

“I’m extremely happy with how the guys were able to bounce back after the VerSteeg home run,” commented Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “We had our backs to the wall, but they kept fighting and were able to come away with a win.  Although he wasn’t involved in the decision, Dezmond White (6IP, 0ER, 11K) had a great start on the mound and seemed to gain more confidence as the game progressed.  He definitely had his best outing of the season and also swung the bat well for us.”

Brady Perleberg (5IP, 0BB, 4H, 6K) got the win in game two.  He also knocked in a pair of runs.  White led B-E with four more hits and the Chargers had 10 hits as a team.  Kyler Sletto and Carter White also contributed multiple hits.
