Cowgirls Sweep Wheaton in Softball Double Header

The Breckenridge Cowgirls swept a softball double header from Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday, winning 11-1 and 13-1, limiting the Warriors to just two hits in the first game and capitalizing on 10 walks in game two.

Breckenridge jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the opener, scoring twice in the first inning, 3 times in the second inning and adding six runs in the third inning.  Irella Bautista (2-3, HR, 3RBI, 2R), Adi Dodge (2-2, 3B, 3RBI, 2R, SB), McKena Koolmo (2-2, 2B, RBI, R, SB) and Abby Johnson (2-3, R) led the Cowgirls at the plate.  Mia Dodge (5IP, 2H, ER, 8K, 0BB) was the winning pitcher.

The Cowgirls got off to another fast start in the nightcap, pushing across 5 runs in the top of the first and then adding 3 in the fourth, 2 in the fifth and 3 in the seventh.  Bautista (2-4, 2B, 2RBI, 2R), Adi Dodge (2-5, 2B, SB, RBI, 2R), Johnson (1-4, 2B, 3RBI, R, 2SB) and Koolmo (1-3, 2B, RBI, 2R) were the hitting leaders.  Bautista (7IP, 8H, ER, 8K, BB) turned in a complete game in the circle.
