Lane Dilly shut down Menahga, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Ottertail Central Bulldogs to an 11-0 victory on Tuesday.  Dilly went all six innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out four.  The Bulldogs used a seven run sixth inning to secure the victory.

Hunter Haugen, Noah Link, Ayden Olson, Tyson Misegades and Gavin Pausch all drove in runs in the innings.  Misegades and Jayden Harig each managed two hits for OTC.  The Bulldogs also stole seven bases with Owen Harig taking two bags.

Coach Ryan Hendrickson was excited for his team, “Lane was really in a groove tonight.  He got ahead of 21 of 24 batters by throwing first pitch strikes.  By getting ahead of batters he was able to keep them off balance and then, of course, our defense was outstanding again.  On top of that, it is pretty exciting to see our offense continuing hitting the ball hard.”

Drew Evavold made an outstanding play in the field as Menahga had their leadoff batter reached on a single to left field.  With one on and nobody out, Quincy Jantz hit a ball to the left field fence, past Evavold.  Evavold pounced on the ball and fired the baserunner, Tyrell Aho, out at third base.  “This was a huge play in the game,” commented OTC third baseman Hunter Haugen.  “It felt like Menahga was going to maybe make a run, but Drew threw him out.”

Senior Captain, Jayden Harig, also made remarks about the game, saying, “We played a complete game tonight.  Obviously, Lane threw really well.  We were on the same page all night, but our defense was flawless and we were able to hit the ball pretty hard.”

The Bulldogs will play an afternoon game on Wednesday at 12:30pm in Henning.  This is a makeup game from Monday.

Two pitchers combined on a no-hitter for the OTC JV team as they posted a 21-0 win.  Garrett Kuhn-Rice got the win with 3 hitless, scoreless innings to start the game.  Teddy Grabe threw two innings of relief.  Ryan Despard collected four hits in five at bats, including a pair of doubles, leading a 16-hit attack.
