The Ashby-Brandon-Evansville track and field teams had an opportunity to compete in a meet Thursday that was hosted by the Plainview-Elgin-Millville school district in Elgin. The meet was organized by the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted and Osakis staffs. “The PEM district was extremely gracious by allowing this meet to take place at their facility,” noted ABE Head Coach Adam Wagner. “It was great to get an opportunity to compete outdoors and on a beautiful 80 degree day!"
Junior Lucea Wales had an outstanding day, winning the 100 meter hurdles (16.93), the 200 meter dash (27.20) and the triple jump (32’4.5”), and taking runner-up honors in the 300 meter hurdles (53.46).
Junior Ashley Paulson was third in the high jump (4’6”), seventh in the 800 meter run (3:02) and seventh in the 1600 meter run (6:40). Sophomore Taylor Dingwall was fourth in the high jump (4’6”).
Junior Skylar Bitzan placed fourth in the 100 meter dash (13.59), senior Nathan Anderson came in seventh in the 300 meter hurdles (49.28) and junior Alessio Schott was eighth in the long jump (16’10.25”).
