The Perham baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-4 loss to Chatfield on Friday.  Chatfield put up a four spot in the first inning and increased their lead to 5-0 after two, scoring a single run in the second.  After Perham cut the lead to 5-4 with a pair of 2-run innings, Chatfield pushed across two fifth-inning runs to regain the lead and never relinquished it.

Gage Aanenson (2-4, HR, RBI, R) and Ben Shumanksy (2-3, HR, 3RBI, R) each homered for the Yellowjackets.

Starting pitcher Blaiz Schmidt (2IP, 5H, 5R, 2ER, BB, K) took the loss for Perham.

Caden Boyum (2.1IP, 2H, 1ER, 2BB, 2K) earned the win in relief of Drew O’Conner (3.1IP, 3H, 3ER, 2BB, 4K).  O’Conner (2-2, 2B, SB, RBI) and Carter Daniels (2-4, 2B, SB, 2R) were the leading hitters for the Gophers.  Ryan Nosbisch drove in a pair of runs and Jacob Erickson also knocked in a run.
