The Fergus Falls boys’ tennis team advanced to the Section 8A Semifinals last year and finished with a record of 9-15 on the season.  Some holes in the lineup were created through graduation, but eighth-year head coach Titus Christianson has a solid group returning to form the nucleus of the 2023 Otters.

Seniors Grant Ackerson, Nick Flugstad, Joey Johnson, Ethan Leopold, Peyton Marquette, Christian Reed, Reno Schierer and Aiden Shern, and junior Jackson Lysne are returning letter winners, with Ackerson, Leopold, Reed and Schierer serving as team captains.

“We should have a group that has a lot of energy and likes to spend time on the court together,” noted Christianson.  “We will need to be dialed in when we get outside and craft our games to the best of our abilities in our short season.  We will have a group that is fairly deep in singles, but we will need to spend a fair amount of time getting doubles reps in with a lot of different combinations.”

Roy Anderson and Jesse Schneeberger will assist Christianson.

Alexandria, Brainerd, Sartell and St. Cloud Tech have been tabbed as Central Lakes Conference favorites by Coach Christianson, with Thief River Falls, New London-Spicer and Osakis his top teams in Section 8A.
