The Parkers Prairie softball team lost corner infielders Lydia Guenther (3B) and Brooklyn Rokes (1B) to graduation, however, the Panthers return a solid group of veteran players for the 2023 season.  Head Coach Bill Wagner will be assisted by Michael Lorine (Varsity Assistant), Grace Christenson (JV), Blake Saathoff (Junior High) and Erin Kruegger (Junior High).

“It looks to be an exciting season as there are a lot of girls with experience returning,” said Coach Wagner.  “That being said, we will be a fairly young team with lots of energy.  For the first time in a while, Parkers has a number of pitchers that can work the mound.  This years’ team has a lot of speed, so there are a number of situations in which that will be helpful.”

Returning letter winners include seniors Ashley Olson (C), Cora Johnson (IF/OF), Jasmine Wendt (OF) and Abby Ruckheim (UT), juniors Joey McKeown (P) and Abigail Bauer (OF), and freshman Alyssa Revering (P).

The Panthers are also expecting varsity contributions from juniors Jessa Rounds (IF), Hope Koep (UT) and Skylar Ashbaugh (1B), sophomore Rose Volker (P), and freshmen Henlee Mrnak (P/IF) and Evy Grinager (P/UT).

“New York Mills is always tough in the conference and in the section,” said Coach Wagner.  “They are very consistent and always on top.  Browerville is also a tough team that has lots of drive and determination.  Playing against these two teams will make everyone better.”
